The behavioral psychologist BF Skinner believed that our development as people is based solely on our environment and surrounding circumstances. Skinner asserted that changes in behavior are the result of an individual's response to events that occur in the environment.

While followers of Jesus would disagree with Skinner in theory, in practice we often reflect in our disposition and manner the circumstances that befall us, whether good or bad! The question remains, "is it possible to live above our circumstances?" The apostle Paul addresses this amazing potential in Philippians 4:4-7.
