July 3, 2022 Speaker: Steve Tecco Series: Psalms
Passage: Psalm 87:1–7
Psalm 87 presents a beautiful picture of God’s love for the city of Jerusalem. This holy city is the place where people gather from the known world in order to worship El Elyon, “God Most Powerful over the Nations.”
Go Deeper:
- Why do you think that God would have an inordinate love for the “gates” of Jerusalem?
- What is the meaning of being “born here” (in Jerusalem) in light of the fact that they were actually born in far away places?
- How is God seen as the God of missionary outreach in this psalm?
- How does Psalm 87 relate to the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus in John chapter 3?
