Light of the World

October 20, 2019 Speaker: Breton Palmer Series: The Gospel of John

Passage: John 8:12–30

The first words spoken in the Bible are by God who commanded “let there be light!” The creation of light also signaled the coming of God’s blessing which is God himself.
In John’s gospel, light plays a major theme in contrast to the darkness of the fallen worldly system in rebellion against God. Jesus arrives as the light bringing God’s blessing into the darkness and life to those who follow him.
