Understanding the Church as the Temple of God

August 2, 2020 Speaker: Breton Palmer Series: Understanding Church

Passage: Ephesians 2:19–22

Humanity was created to dwell with God in the Garden-temple of Eden. However, because of Adam’s rebellion, everyone is now exiled from God’s presence. God establishes His presence with His people through the Tabernacle and later the Temple. These structures foreshadow the coming of God in the person of Jesus Christ, our true Temple.

Discussion:
If the Church is the eschatological [last days] temple of God,
-How should that affect our understanding and pursuit of holiness? In what way are we responsible for holiness of our church?
-Does this affect our understanding of the assembly/gathering? How so?
-What are the “New Covenant” sacrifices we offer?
